UML

Scott Ambler is a senior consultant with Ambysoft Inc. and author of several books and articles regarding effective software development. He is the thought leader behind The Agile Data Method, Agile Model Driven Development (AMDD), the Enterprise Unified Process (EUP), and the Full Lifecycle Object-Oriented Testing (FLOOT) method. He is also a contributor to the Rational Unified Process (RUP).

Scott helps Ambysoft clients to adopt various forms of the Unified Process, including both the RUP and EUP, and delivers training courses as well.

I'm really excited to see JavaBlackBelt put my UML guidelines online like this.

My goal when writing this book was to help developers create UML diagrams which were effective and easy to understand. Although people's first reaction to this concept is invariably "Why should I care about how I organize my bubbles and lines?".

I think you'll soon discover that a few simple practices can really improve your models. Just like coding conventions are important, so are diagramming conventions.
